With the weather getting warmer, many of our Integrity family members are gearing up for summertime fun. For our new partner, First American Insurance Underwriters’ Allan Gersten, that means getting out and enjoying the beautiful Cape Cod.
Allan’s love of the ocean began at an early age as he grew up with easy beach access. The Atlantic City, New Jersey, native spent his free time down at the boardwalk and even had his first job there working concessions. As he got older, he relocated to Boston and began working on his business, but he never lost his love for the ocean.
Even now, Allan makes sure he gets out onto the water every chance he gets, sometimes for fishing trips or speeding across the water. Other times, he will take the boat out a little further for lobster diving with family and friends. It’s clear that Allan loves spending time on the water, especially when his grandchildren join him.
Despite his love of the water, he’s the first to remind people there are dangers out at sea. He’s seen great white sharks on multiple occasions and even had an experience where a 17’ shark came circling around his boat. What made it scarier was that three of Allan’s grandchildren were out with him at the time. Luckily, they all are okay, and the experience didn’t deter any of them from their love of the ocean.
