A Chance Worth Taking

Category: "Inspire" Stories

On the “Inspire” podcast we heard from our new Integrity Partners and good friends, Ed and Beverly Shackelford, co-owners of The Assurance Group.

Like all successful people, Ed and Beverley have worked very hard to achieve their goals. Ed shared the story of how he started working as a mechanic at textile plants near his North Carolina home. Realizing that he and Beverly wanted more from life, Ed took and passed the insurance exam — and then the two of them took a chance by starting a new company out of their garage.

That chance has paid off in a big way. Over thirty years later, Ed and Beverly have built an incredible business and legacy that they’re proud to share with their twin daughters, Brooke and Brittany. Above is a great shot of Ed from his mechanic days, before he made the move to insurance.

And here’s a recent photo of the Shackelford family:

It’s always inspiring to hear about stories of courage and success from great people like Ed and Beverly. We couldn’t be more honored to welcome them into the Integrity family!
