As an industry leader and Co-Founder of JK Financial, Jeff Kaufman has built a career centered on serving others. Whether guiding clients, mentoring colleagues or giving back to his community alongside his wife and business partner, Kim, Jeff has always believed that meaningful success comes from helping people reach their potential.
That same philosophy shaped his years as a youth baseball and softball coach. For Jeff, coaching was never just about wins and losses. It was about teaching discipline, building confidence and helping young athletes develop the skills and character they would carry long after their playing days were over.
Over the years, Jeff coached countless players, but one experience left a lasting impression. A fellow coach introduced him to Avi and Kari Arbova, twin sisters from Bulgaria whose talent on the softball field was immediately apparent. As they joined his team, Jeff quickly recognized that their impact extended far beyond their athletic ability.
The Arbova sisters brought an exceptional work ethic, positive attitude and commitment to excellence that elevated everyone around them. Their dedication challenged teammates to improve and helped create a culture where players encouraged one another to achieve more. Jeff witnessed firsthand how leadership can come from unexpected places, as the twins inspired their peers both on and off the field.
Perhaps even more meaningful was the perspective they shared. Through conversations with the twins and their family, Jeff gained a renewed appreciation for opportunities many people take for granted. Their gratitude for the freedoms and possibilities available in America served as a powerful reminder of the importance of resilience, optimism and perspective.
What began as a coaching relationship eventually grew into a lifelong friendship between the two families. While the Kaufmans helped support the Arbova family’s pursuit of educational and athletic opportunities in the United States, Jeff is the first to say that the experience changed him as much as anyone else. The lessons he learned reinforced a belief that has guided him throughout his life and career: when you invest in others, the rewards often come back in ways you never expect.
