Here at Integrity, we’re always striving to do our very best — and we love celebrating champions in every form. So, we were understandably excited when John Bettis of Eldercare Insurance Services sent us this fantastic photo of the winner of the 2024 Kentucky Derby, Mystik Dan, draped in an Integrity blanket!
Opening the 150th running of the Kentucky Derby as an 18–1 underdog, Mystik Dan was in the middle of the pack for most of the race. He took a short lead around the far turn and then briefly extended it down the stretch. However, two other horses began to close in fast — the race literally came down to the wire! In the end, Mystik Dan was able to hold off his competitors and win the race by a nose. It was the Derby’s first three-way photo finish since 1947!
John Bettis is good friends with Mystik Dan’s owners, who graciously let their horse pose with our Integrity swag. The “Whatever It Takes” slogan on the blanket has become a rallying cry at Integrity, as we work to help the Americans we serve better plan for the good days ahead. And it perfectly aligns with the spirit of Mystik Dan — an underdog champion that seized the moment and did what it took to be the best!
