YJ Yoon is the CEO of Cornerstone Insurance Services.
Born in South Korea, YJ immigrated to the United States at age 19 amid his country’s financial crisis, intending to stay for just one month. Instead, he found the opportunity to build a new life and future. Nearly 30 years later, YJ has become one of the most recognized insurance agency leaders in the Chicagoland area, having founded Cornerstone Insurance Services in 2014. The agency and its success are the result of many years of relentless, around-the-clock focus and effort.
Cornerstone serves clients across five states. Its distinctive training model gives new agents hands-on field experience and a starter book of business from day one. Beyond insurance, YJ co-founded Seoul Stick, a Korean street food restaurant in Chicago’s Wicker Park that brings the rich flavors of his homeland to his adopted city.
YJ resides in the greater Chicago area with his wife and two children. Faith is the cornerstone of his life — he coaches youth basketball and regularly serves in his church and community. Music is also central to the Yoon household: YJ’s wife is a worship singer, his son plays electric guitar and his daughter plays piano.
