Hitting the Books

A lifelong learner, our new Integrity partner Alex “Fitz” Fitzgerald has been learning business skills since childhood. On the “Inspire” Podcast, Fitz tells us he began building these skills after his older brother offered some advice: “Go make your own money. It’s freedom from mom and dad. And when you leave home, make sure you don’t ever have to come back.”

Fitz says that kick-started his drive to be successful.

However, Fitz’s best lessons came from his love of reading. In college, he studied psychology, religious studies and everything his mentor, now Integrity Partner, Andy Albright gave him. When he was a new agent, he applied the same habits of scholarship to his business.

As a new agent, he didn’t know how to sell. So, he turned to the experts and read their books. Zig Ziglar played on cassettes in his car. Good to Great by Jim Collins changed his life. He attended conferences, asked advice of experts and listened to those around him. “We are who we are because of what we read and who we talk to,” Fitz explained. His search for knowledge became a constant practice in his life.

To this day, Fitz reads over 100 books per year. His passion for knowledge has only grown through the years. And, for Fitz, partnering with Integrity is going to put his company in a position to learn from fellow partners and their experiences.

We look forward to learning from Fitz as much as he is looking forward to learning from us. Go check out Fitz’s episode of the podcast now and let him inspire you to hit the books.
