A Service Agent

On a recent episode of the “Inspire” Podcast, we had the pleasure of speaking with Steve Gaffney of Penn Global Marketing. Steve shared with us the inspiring story of how delivering a check to a family in rural Illinois made him decide to switch his sales-focused mentality to one of service.

But there is another part to this story that takes place in Steve’s youth, one that tells us why service means so much to him. When Steve was a kid, a family accident made him realize the power of service.

One night, Steve was in charge of his younger siblings as they played in the front yard. But the fun came to abrupt stop when his infant sister got her fingers caught in a bike chain.

Neighbors ran to get a doctor who told Steve’s family the fingers may need to be amputated. His parents wouldn’t accept that and asked if there was anyone who could save their daughter’s hand. The doctor said there was one specialist in Chicago who might have a solution.

The Gaffney family raced into town and the doctor met with them to begin the surgery. Hours later, the doctor came out and told the Gaffney family their baby was going to be okay and all of her fingers were saved!

Steve says the look of relief and joy on his mother’s face inspired him to look for a career that could give people that same peace of mind — and now Steve does just that! His business has a reputation for its exceptional service and agent support. As Penn Global is a reflection on Steve’s character, we’re proud to say that Integrity just gained a powerhouse of a new Partner.
