Jorge Collado’s story is a powerful testament to a family’s sacrifice and the pursuit of the American Dream. Growing up in the Dominican Republic, his life was marked by his parents’ determination to provide him with better opportunities. This resolve led his mother to make a perilous journey to the United States, braving days on a raft in search of a brighter future for her children.
Separated from his mother for years, Jorge was raised by his father and extended family who instilled in him the values of hard work and perseverance. His mother’s eventual success in bringing him to the United States marked a new chapter in Jorge’s life, filled with possibilities that were once unattainable.
In time, Jorge would extend this same service to his own father. On the “Inspire” Podcast, Jorge explains he was able to get his father to immigrate to the States back in 2013. And in turn, more of Jorge’s family followed suit — a few of them eventually helped him build the new family business. But what makes him smile is the fact that he helped get his father set up with Medicare when he turned 65!
Today, Jorge honors his parents’ sacrifices by leading a successful insurance agency. Working alongside his wife and business partner, Maria, Jorge’s agency fosters a community that values family and collective success.
