Daughter of the Community

So many of our Integrity Family leaders are passionate about lifting others up and making real changes in their communities. Myrlande Charles, President of Elite Quality Insurance Group, shares that heart of service and knows why it is so prized within our industry.

Born in the Bahamas to a pair of Haitian immigrants, Myrlande moved to America when she was 8. In her experience, many children of immigrants will act as translators to help their parents and community elders to overcome language barriers. This upbringing instilled a habit of true service into Myrlande — which proved to be a natural fit for the insurance industry. When she came into the business, she found true value in the services she helped provide, and in time decided to start her own team to make an even bigger impact. Through her work and community service, Myrlande became known as a “daughter of the community.”

By reaching out to her Haitian Creole community, she helps immigrant families get the protections she knows they need. By speaking in their native tongue, she opens their doors — and through her integrity and actions, she earns their trust.

As a child, Myrlande would pray for the homeless. When she got older, a local church helped her turn that passion into action. For the last 15 years, she’s been volunteering at Camillus House, a local homeless ministry and shelter, where she serves and cooks for 200 people nearly every weekend.

Myrlande is truly a servant in her community. Now with Integrity’s support, she can continue supporting her fellow immigrants and neighbors in reaching their own American Dreams. Learn more about Myrlande and Elite Quality Insurance Group here!
