Many members of the Integrity family have come to America, hopeful for the opportunity to work hard and create a legacy for their families. On the “Inspire” Podcast, we heard the story of We The People Agency Founder Rodolfo Vargas, who through true grit and perseverance pursued his own American Dream.
Born and raised in El Salvador, Rodolfo fully expected to live out his days in his homeland with his family. While in high school, Rodolfo met and began to date his now wife and business partner, Cecilia. When his father lost his job, his parents moved to America in search of opportunity, but Rodolfo chose to stay and finish his education.
Years later, a life-changing moment caused Rodolfo to follow in his parents’ footsteps. On the “Inspire” Podcast, he told us how a frightening experience with a local gangster motivated him to move to America to escape the local crime plaguing his neighborhood.
While in El Salvador, Rodolfo was college educated and working as an economist. But in the States, his academic degrees were not transferrable, and his basic grasp of the English language further hindered his employment prospects. He eventually found work as a security guard at Sears.
His mother, knowing his potential, convinced Rodolfo to attend a motivational meeting being held by future Integrity Managing Partner Patrick Bet-David. This is the moment that changed his life. He saw the opportunity this industry provides and knew that he was in control of his own destiny.
Together with Cecilia, they took a leap of faith and founded their business We The People, named after the truth highlighted in the Declaration of Independence that we can do and accomplish more when we are united.
Rodolfo’s journey is a poignant reminder that sometimes our biggest trials can lead to the most impactful opportunities. As a leader, he stands as a testament to the enduring spirit of the American Dream and we can’t wait to see how many more lives he will inspire!
