Chris’ career didn’t start with insurance. After graduating college, he planned to join his family’s construction business in Canada, but an economic downturn forced them to close shop and relocate to Arizona. The family pivoted, opening a candy store, where Chris first learned the ins and outs of running a business. Later, he launched his own restaurant group, experiencing entrepreneurial success — until the Great Recession changed everything. Forced to shut down his restaurants, Chris once again found himself starting over, looking for a new direction.
That’s when he discovered insurance. At first, the transition wasn’t easy, but Chris refused to quit. Drawing from his background as a competitive hockey player, he embraced the challenge with discipline and determination. Over time, he found his stride in Medicare and, a few years later, founded Innovative Benefit Concepts.
Today, Chris leads a thriving agency that not only serves clients but also gives back. He works with nonprofits supporting families and individuals with autism, reflecting his commitment to making a difference beyond the business world. His journey proves that success isn’t about never failing, it’s about getting back up, learning from every experience and finding new ways to move forward.
