On the “Inspire” Podcast, we got to chat with Sunny Rubin of Golden Years Design Benefits. As one of the pioneering women in this field, it was great to hear her perspective and her story.

Sunny’s story begins in loss, as her move toward insurance began with her husband’s passing in 1989. She struggled to find a balance between work and the blossoming hockey career of her son, Golden Year’s Managing Director, Devin Rubin. His hockey games meant that she would have to leave work early to get him to practices and games, but she never missed a moment. She showed her dedication to her family by supporting her son’s passion.

In the first few year of being a single mother, Sunny worked three jobs just to make ends meet. Eventually, she discovered insurance as a flexible career option that would allow her to be there for Devin. She got her insurance license in 1991 and worked hard for every lead and every sale, seeing potential in Medicare when no one else in her office did.

She joined the insurance industry more than 30 years ago, meeting any challenges with her strength and persistence. No matter what, Sunny never gave up. Her determination made her one of the top earners as the only woman in the entire office. Sunny set out on her own in 1998 and has seen consistent growth ever since.

She has consulted with corporations to help their employees prepare for retirement. She teaches and hosts insurance workshops. She talks with everyone she meets. She always looks to the future and prepares for opportunities before they arise.

Sunny Rubin is a planner and a role model, a selfless champion for women in the workplace and a proud hockey mother and grandmother. We are thrilled to welcome her to our Integrity family. Go listen to Sunny and Devin on the “Inspire” Podcast to hear more about this great family today.
