The Yearn to Endure

Spartan races are often viewed as some of the toughest obstacle courses around. They’re designed to push the limits of human endurance with courses ranging from an intense 5k to a full marathon. When Dave Whichard, President of Velocity Life Insurance Agency, stopped by the “Inspire” Podcast, he shared how years of Spartan races have helped him grow in all aspects of his life.

Dave gets a head start to his day by waking up at four o’clock every morning to create time for self-reflection and self-improvement. That same drive for personal growth led him and his wife to try out Spartan races to push themselves to new limits.

Although Dave called his 14 Spartan races “something to do on the weekend,” it’s clear they are fuel for his competitive drive. However, Dave says the most satisfaction he gets from doing Spartan races is when his family runs with him. Seeing them defeat challenges and face their fears inspires him to keep going and has helped his family grow closer. The races are like life, with obstacles to overcome, but racing has taught him that with the right attitude and determination, anything is possible.

We are inspired by Dave’s story, and now as an Integrity partner, he’s gaining a bigger Integrity family to cheer him on in future races. Be sure to check out the rest of our conversation with Dave on the “Inspire” Podcast!
